My opinion 1

By exercising the freedom of expression as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi under section 35, allow me make my contribution towards the current situations in Malawi.

His Excellence Bingu Wa Muthalika was elected the president of the Republic of Malawi in 2004 and voted back into office in 2009. In his first term of his office a lot of development happened, especially the known upsurge of maize availability in the country, and people liked him so much no wonder he amassed more votes in 2009 general election. Surprisingly, after his victory in 2009, many criticism have erupted against his government especially his proposed policies and other political and social issues. Issues like the amendment of section 46 of the penal code, changing of the national flag, injunction bill, scarcity of fuel and foreign currency, expulsion of the British envoy, the disagreement between the H E and his vice, indefinite closure of some public colleges, among others, have attracted criticism from the opposition, civil organisations and the public at large.
And the question might come asking what has happen to our trusted president? Where are all those qualities he had in his first term?
In my view, i think the president had in mind of introducing certain policies that will make Malawi an absolute independent state. I am suggesting this in understanding of the zero deficit policy and flag change policy, in which it symbolize the growth of Malawi. Now, with the majority of legislatures in his side, he thinks this is the time when those dreams will now come to fruition. He is now becoming a bigot in fear of his critic mutilating his dreams.

Let me say, it is the good idea making Malawi an absolute independent state, economically. The problem is that Malawi is still a poor country that can just adopt this. But still, the fact that we are poor does not mean we cant do it. We can but there ideas have just come like a falling leaf, very sudden to say. Let the people be given ample time and explain to then the new development ideas. It is true that even Adam, when sinned, God told him that he will "eat his OWN sweat." Yes, ifenso tiyenera kudya thukuta lathu, not someone's. Nothing comes on the silver platter. We as a nation need to work hard to achieve this. Lets not underrate ourselves. We can do this!!
